In 2024, Jesper Munk celebrated his “return” to himself. After a longer creative hiatus—spent largely as a member of the Berlin post-punk band P.D.O.A. (Public Display Of Affection) and the internationally acclaimed industrial-noise institution Plattenbau—he released Yesterdaze last year. Following the 2022 cover album Taped Heart Sounds, this long-awaited, self-written record became the highly praised successor to Favourite Stranger (2018).

On the occasion of the tenth anniversary of his most successful album to date, Claim (released simultaneously with the best of … live album as a limited “10th Anniversary Vinyl Edition”), Jesper Munk is now turning his focus back to his early work, which he had consciously set aside for a time. The album best of … live, released in September 2025, is a two-part double album featuring two independent live recordings with the German Film Orchestra Babelsberg and his backing band The Cassette Heads. It brings together all of his evergreen tracks—from the enduring Claim staples “Morning Coffee,” “Shakespeare & Heartbreak,” “Courage For Love,” and “Reeperbahn,” to all-time favorites such as “Clean,” “Easier,” “Blue Shadows,” and “Happy When I’m Blue.”
