Gregor McEwan is on the road again to present his brand-new album — but of course, he won’t leave out songs from his first four records Houses And Homes, Much Ado About Loving, From A To Beginning, and Four Seasons, which have earned him comparisons to international greats like Glen Hansard, Damien Rice, City And Colour, and Noel Gallagher.
Excerpt from Linus Volkmann’s press release:
“You can’t help but be moved by the emotional depth of these songs. They have the power to make you tear up even if played on a beat-up acoustic guitar around a campfire. But the fact that Gregor McEwan also wraps them in such a rich and varied sound aesthetic proves the exceptional place he holds (…) These are almost obscenely skillful songs — pure essence. Maybe McEwan has never delivered his art with such focus. These tracks are an experience! All the adrenaline, the joy, the melancholy that floods you here — this is exactly what this kind of music should be about, nothing less. Every time I listen, I’m completely wrecked. Thank you for that!”
“… Gregor McEwan is so much more than just folk. He’s not your typical neighborhood folk singer showing up on every random stage with his guitar. His musical visions are way too diverse for that. Big love songs!” (Rolling Stone)
“… Gregor McEwan is absolutely a really good musician. I’m honestly amazed — the ending of Halloween Costume feels like a nod to One by Metallica, especially when that drum kicks in. And the song is brilliant! The video’s great too! I’m adding Gregor McEwan and Halloween Costume to the Fidi & Bumsi playlist…” (Olli Schulz on Fest & Flauschig podcast)
