aberdeen : a story and song cycle about a strange life in a small logging town
From Matt Sheehy (Lost Lander, EL VY)
and animator Stefan Nadelman (Montague of Heck, Long Strange Trip)
In 2007, Matt Sheehy took a job as a forester in the dark, rain soaked logging town of Aberdeen on the Washington state coast. His plan was to disappear into the woods and escape his failed attempts at love and a life as a professional musician. But things take a turn toward the very strange after an eccentric local man named Andy Flood reveals a dark secret and a mysterious corpse. Aberdeen quickly leaves him struggling to make sense of the fundamental nature of the universe and his place in it. In the words of Flood, “Aberdeen isn’t a place. It’s a thing that happens to you”.
ABERDEEN is a sci-fi musical memoir that spans the last decade of Matt’s musical life and includes selections from Lost Lander’s DRRT and Medallion, his 2008 solo album Tigerphobia and many new songs from an upcoming album of the same name.
